PLANS FOR A RESURRECTION is a series of reliefs on bronze. The bronze works are based on the technique of icon making as well as what in my native Greece we call ‘tamata’, which is off course ex-votos. Only here the objects value as protection is jeopardised and the icons are much larger and hand made. Inspired by Christian Iconography and more specifically medieval and renaissance pictures figuring the Veil of Saint Veronika or the Ostentation Vulnerum, (the holy wounds that Christ shows as proof of his death once resurrected), these works are part of an ongoing series where I play with representations of the Christian doctine, changing the main protagonist into a girl.

Plans for a resurrection is a sort of extention or parallel act to my performance Eve Syndrome where Eve the first woman ever to walk the earth gives a conference about her life in and out of paradise.
